Disrupting Therapy Industry Norms with socialworkup's Web Design

socialworkup Therapy is one of those websites that breaks industry barriers. Jasmine Chandy, owner of socialworkup, was one of the first BrandWell clients to take The Branding Business School before hiring us to design her website and boy did it pay off…literally and figuratively.

Over the last few years, we've had the privilege of designing websites for many therapy clients. Three key elements are involved in achieving differentiation on a website. I thought I'd give you the inside scoop on how we approach this with our clients…

1. Your personality is an asset, not a liability.

We embrace our clients' personalities and try to highlight them wherever we can through design. The fastest way to blend in is to try and copy what the competition is already doing. When you're trying to stand out in a saturated market, lean into what makes you YOU.

2. Get laser-clear on who your audience is.

I know what you're thinking—”Obviously!” But you'd be surprised at how many entrepreneurs don't have an in-depth understanding of their customers. Details like gender, age, trends, location, income, likes, interests, hobbies, etc., all contribute to creating an innovative and strategic design.

When it comes to socialworkup, Jasmine knew that she was aiming to serve Chicago men and women between the ages of 15 and 35 who experience depression, anxiety, and grief, which brings me to point number three…

3. Highlight the solution, not the problem.

Looking at socialworkup's website above, you can tell right away that Jasmine's practice aims to change the feelings of depression, anxiety, and grief into happiness, confidence, and energy.

Let's be honest: the therapy industry has long lagged behind in design. Raise your hand if you've landed on a therapy website that looks like this: sage greens and soft blues, bland copy, and a picture of a waterfall.

Don't let “industry norms” sabotage your success.

If you're ready to show up confident with a strategically designed website, we'd love to hear from you. Schedule a free 15-minute consult with us today >>
