Two types of entrepreneurs

There are two types of entrepreneurs in this world- ones who develop a product or service after finding a gap in the market and stumble upon the entrepreneurial life… and ones who were simply born with a desire to start a business.

If you’re the latter, you’ve likely tried your hand at more businesses than one.

Such was the case for Libby, who started and grew many successful businesses, only to burn out and need time away before taking on the next endeavor.

The road leading to littlebirds.co

Libby started her entrepreneurial journey in 2016 with an Etsy shop, selling just about any hand-made craft you can think of. She soon realized that she had taken her hobby of crafting and tried to turn it into a money-making opportunity, and somewhere along the way, she had lost her sense of creativity and passion for the projects.

After shutting down her Etsy shop, she found herself moving 9 hours away from family and entering into a difficult season of life emotionally. Libby took to health and fitness as an outlet during this time and shared her journey on social media, growing her Instagram faith and fitness account to more than 25k followers in just two years.

When she found out she was pregnant with her first child, Libby’s priorities quickly changed and she knew she needed to step back from growing her influencer account.

Recognizing a gap in the market

While taking time away from social media, Libby took to sewing clothes and accessories for her soon-to-arrive baby girl. She recognized that there were no affordable options to purchase quality baby bows and headbands so she set out to take her new-found talent of sewing and put it to good use- making bows and turbans for her daughter!

For the first time in her life, Libby had found a place where her passion and talents collided and also where there was a gap in the market. So became Little Birds.Co.

Tired of starting and stopping several businesses, Libby is taking strategic steps to avoid burnout this time around, including hiring help, setting boundaries, and not obsessing over social media.
